The Role

Support the business by providing specialist, high quality, accurate and timely, regulatory advice and guidance, with a particular emphasis on new and developing regulatory requirements

Provide a 'regulated entities wide' view of compliance activities in order to develop synergies, high quality compliance and drive consistency

Ensure that there are appropriate systems and controls in place to meet Bupa's, and our regulators' expectations.

Providing effective challenge to the business and identifying and escalating risks and issues, working with colleagues in the team and across the business to provide practical, pragmatic solutions to help the business move forward.

Promote a robust and effective conduct and compliance culture across the FCA regulated entities.

Maintain SMCR responsibilities / governance - providing 2nd line compliance advice and oversight of SMCR requirements.

The Person

Significant experience in a FCA regulatory advisory role with in depth knowledge of the FCA handbook and regulatory expectations

A true business partner with the rare ability to generate recommendations which improve business processes and are acceptable to operational management

A rounded good understanding of the political, legislative, regulatory, compliance and consumer environments affecting the financial services industry

Interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through consultation and conciliation.
