Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex, United Kingdom
Rate: £350-£450 day - 6 Month Contract

About our client:

A fast-growth $250m technology business, our client is a market leading provider of data, software, and risk analysis solutions to clients across the global banking, financial services, and government sectors. They are part of the FTSE100 RELX Group, recently ranked by Forbes at #53 in their Top-200 Global Employers.

They are seeking experienced Senior Java software engineers to join them on a 6-month contract in East Grinstead. Working in an Agile and rapidly expanding global team you will be driving innovation and a start-up mindset to this fast-growing business. Their East Grinstead team is undergoing a transformation with new technology and features built initially by a team based in London with the East Grinstead team gradually taking on an increasing role. By taking a modular approach they have already completed 2 successful releases and will continue this gradual move to a Java stack over the next 2 years.

Required skills:

  • Proficiency in JAVA 1.8
  • Proficiency with Spring Boot framework
  • Proficiency in writing unit tests for Java and AngularJS
  • Experience with Git SCM
  • Microservice architectures, incl experience of Service Discovery platforms (preferably
  • SSO technologies (SAML/OAUTH2)
  • Neo4J / SPARQL or other graph database technologies
  • NoSQL experience
  • BigData experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Angular 2.0


  • Experience with Stash, Bitbucket, Jira
  • ElasticSearch
  • Experience in test driven development
  • Worked in an Agile development team

Key Accountabilities:

  • Collaboration with members of technical and business facing teams to finalize requirements.
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.
  • Work with existing team locally to share knowledge and best practice and support transition to new tech skills
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Scrum, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Resolve technical issues as necessary.
  • Complete bug fixes.
