Band 5 or Band 6 Occupational Therapist
We have an opportunity for a Locum Occupational therapist to join a mental health team for one of the UK's leading providers of community and mental health services.
The successful Occupational Therapist will be required to work with a varied caseload in a 45 bedded unit for men between the ages of 18 to 65.
The team provides a pathway of recovery for people who have a diagnosed psychotic disorder, for example schizophrenia, and have been detained under the Mental Health Act. Many will also be misusing drugs and/or alcohol.
There are three distinct wards, staffed by a skilled and well-established multi-disciplinary team.
Each patient is on a two year recovery pathway and the unit also offer innovative Buddy and Peer Support Worker Scheme, where new arrivals are paired up with more experienced residents. This has led to a high percentage of service users being discharged to lower secure services.
My client requires an Occupational Therapist with previous mental health experience, ideally within acute or forensic mental health. They will consider applicants at both a band 5 and band 6 level.
This position is a full time locum role, available on an ongoing basis. An IMMEDIATE start is available.
You do not need to be a car driver for this position.
If you are interested in this challenging and exciting locum opportunity, then phone Tilly at Sugarman today on or email .
*I have a number of other occupational therapy locum roles throughout the UK, in a range of clinical areas - feel free to get in touch and I will be happy to discuss these with you*
