History Teacher Job Role

Reed Education are currently looking to recruit a Secondary History Teacher to work in a school in the North Oxfordshire area.

The ideal candidate will be friendly, approachable, reliable and committed to understanding and catering to the needs of all pupils. Additionally, you will possess a sound, up-to-date knowledge of relevant education practices and experience of teaching across all Key Stages.

The school has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and teaches pupils aged 11-21 years old. The role is to deliver History across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 as well as Key Stage 5 if you have the relevant experience. Experience teaching A Level History is desirable but not essential.

Duties will include:
Organising learning resources to create an effective and positive learning environment
Planning, Preparing and Assessing lessons to cater for all pupils, incorporating differentiated tasks suitable for all ability levels.
Teaching all areas of the Secondary curriculum.
Maintaining classroom discipline in line with the school discipline policy
Building rapport between yourself and pupils

The ideal candidate will:
Have experience of teaching in a Secondary setting
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Be a passionate practitioner with the desire to improve the education outcomes for all pupils
Possess an excellent subject knowledge and be able to deliver lesson plans to a high standard
Have excellent classroom management skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels
Be able to support and promote the ethos of the school

The role is a full time, long term supply contract starting ASAP or Easter and running until the end of the academic year.
