Information about the role:
The Media Assistant (MA) role is a pivotal entry-level role that requires a methodical approach and a good attention to detail.

The MA checks and reviews handovers of teaching material from academic authors or other clients. They then convert the content into XML within our production schema (training will be provided) so that it can be easily exported to the various formats we provide to students – print, web, eBook formats and Word.

The Media Assistant is responsible for a variety of other tasks during production – loading video and audio files, asset processing including subtitles and transcription, and ensuring standards are maintained.

If an item is to be printed they are responsible for pagination and will pass files on to the print procurement department. Throughout the production process, the MA will need to liaise with staff at different levels, including project managers and editorial staff, and will need to be proactive.

If this role is of interest to you, please can you call Sophie Holmes or Megan Evans-Evans at Reed on 01908 660057 to discuss the role further.
