An exciting opportunity has arisen within a property company based in South Manchester. The role is to join the team as an Assistant Company Secretary to provide comprehensive and high-quality support to the Group Secretary and the wider business.

The key responsibilities for an Assistant Company Secretary are:

  • draft statutory minutes and resolutions;

  • compile and prepare board and committee papers;

  • monitor and update actions lists;

  • provide administrative support to the board;

  • prepare and maintain records, schedules and databases;

  • advise on and assist with corporate and regulatory registrations;

  • stay up to date with and provide updates on relevant legislation;

  • minute board and committee meetings when required and contribute to discussions

  • undertake ad hoc tasks and projects.

As an Assistant Company Secretary the ideal skills and experience will include:

  • be educated to degree level preferably in accountancy, finance, business, management or law - alternatively, have a relevant level 6 qualification and/or relevant experience;

  • have a thorough understanding of company law and director responsibilities;

  • be well-organised and with good attention to detail;

  • can work independently;

  • experience minuting meetings;

  • can work with numerical information and have commercial sensibilities;

  • have integrity and discretion.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who is looking for a busy and varied role working for an entrepreneurial business. This role is initially a temporary contract with the possibility of permanent.
