Honorary Assistant Psychologist - Hansa Ward
Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a gender specific hospital for women with complex mental health needs. It includes a female low secure service (15 beds); a female PICU (15 beds); a female learning disabilities (low secure) (13 beds); and a Tier 4 personality disorder service (1 x 12 bed and 1 x 6 bed) specialising in DBT although providing other specialist treatment options as appropriate. The candidate will be able to join the established programmes across all the services.
Under direction from a Senior Psychologist and working independently according to an agreed plan, the Psychology Support post will work with members of the team to ensure the smooth running of the department and the services delivered. The post holder will be responsible for participating in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics and teaching other professional groups as appropriate.
The successful candidate will join the established Psychology department comprised of a range of forensic and clinical psychologists as well as assistant psychologists and psychology students. Experience or an interest in working with females with learning disabilities and a knowledge of research principles will be an advantage.
