Our client is a large design, engineering/manufacturing organisation based on the outskirts of Southend and due to continued growth they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Machine Tool Programming Engineering based at their head office in Southend.

Duties for this CNC Machine Tool Programming Engineer position will include:

• Create and modify CNC programmes, developed around optimized manufacturing processes that in turn maximizes production efficiencies on the applicable machine tools.

• Create and modify CNC programmes that are to be developed in order to ensure that the required engineering and quality requirements are achieved and that the program parameters are sufficiently robust enough in order to cope with varying manufacturing batch sizes.

• The creation and modification of CNC programmes that are developed around the most appropriate cutting tool technology.

• The creation and modification of CNC programmes that are appropriately structured in order to achieve the applicable product cost targets.

• Design of machine tool fixtures that allow for the applicable CNC Programmes to be operated on the designated machine tools.

Experience required for this CNC Machine Tool Programming Engineer position will include:

• Apprenticeship trained in Engineering or multiple years machining experience
• Machine shop manufacturing experience including setting and proving using CNC machines, Milling (essential) or Turning (desirable)
• Experience with off line CAD/CAM software and/or Edgecam Training
• Appreciation of programming and codes
• Understanding of various CNC languages (Mazak/ISO)
• Understanding of Machining Principles

The hours are 39 per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm (30 minute lunch break) and Friday 8am to 1pm, and due to the location you will need to have your own transport.
