A school in Hackney is looking for graduate teaching assistants of all subject specialisms to start immediately on a long-term basis, working through until the end of the academic year. If you're an experienced Teaching Assistant, or just want to gain some experience before commencing teacher training, this graduate teaching assistant role would be an excellent springboard for you teaching career.

The Role

Working alongside the teacher and other members of the department, you'll be on hand to support struggling pupils either in-class or in small groups and one-to-one sessions outside of the classroom. Through this, you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience working in a classroom environment and develop your knowledge of the subject curriculum.

As a graduate teaching assistant, you'll need to have a BA or BSc in your chosen subject, preferably with a 2:1 achieved. You'll also be able to demonstrate a desire to work in a school environment and aspire to be a teacher or train further to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).

In return, you'll be paid £60 or more per day (dependent on experience) on a full-time basis up until the end of the academic year. If your performance is satisfactory, you may also be placed on the school's excellent School Direct teacher training programme and receive fully-funded training.
