Job Title: Senior Marine Claims Adjuster
Salary Package: £65,000 - £70,000
Location: London City

Claims
Joining an existing team and reporting to the Marine and Energy Claims Manager, the successful applicant will have responsibility for managing all aspects of the claims adjudication process, providing management and clients with an efficient and effective claims service.

The Marine and Energy claims team manage syndicate claims concerning the following direct, facultative and treaty classes:-

Hull, Cargo, Specie / Fine Art, Energy, Marine Treaty, Marine Liability, Yachts, Marinas, Political Risk, Product Recall, K&R

Responsibilities
-Efficient, accurate and effective adjustment of marine claims in line with the claims department guidelines
-Responsible for establishing and maintaining adequate and accurate reserves
-To supervise and monitor organisations where the company has delegated claims authority
-Instruction of legal representatives and/or loss adjusters where necessary
-Notify and report claims notifications with underwriters and senior management where necessary
-Report on claims issues and items of interest at claims and underwriting meetings
-Represent the organisation at market meetings
-Attend mediations and depositions as required
-Notify the reinsurance claims department of recoverable loss and potentially contentious claims
-Ensure that all claims documentation is maintained in good order

Person Specification

Experience
-Will have experience of having managed claims within Lloyd's Managing Agent/London market company and have a strong market presence.
-A minimum of 10/15 years' experience in handling direct and facultative reinsurance claims in the classes of Hull and Machinery as well as knowledge of other Marine classes would be an advantage
-Full working knowledge of ECF
-Working knowledge of coverholder business as well as previous interactions with TPA's

Qualifications
Qualified ACII or working towards completion of same
