Working collaboratively, they have established a joint ERP team based in Bridgend. The location of Bridgend has a huge range of benefits, being just off the M4 it is easily commutable from South, West and East Wales and as far as Bristol, it's also just minutes from the picturesque beaches and countryside of the Vale of Glamorgan.

Your new role:

South Wales Police and Gwent Police have implemented a shared Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution which integrates with the Force Command and Control Systems to ensure the right person at the right time to meet operational demand. The team provides a wide range of business systems for both Police Forces including Finance, Procurement, Payroll, HR, Development and Rostering. These form a fully integrated resource management system, known as FIRMS, that ensures effective alignment of policing resources to the public. Reporting to the Programme Manager this key role encompasses the management of the high calibre systems support and development team. We are looking for someone with real business insight, as well as the ability to build credibility and rapport at a senior police level. The delivery and development of robust finance and business systems is critical to support both Chief Constables and both Police and Crime Commissioners to ensure sound financial governance and financial accountability and serve over 7,000 staff.

What you'll need to succeed:

This strategic and operational leadership role requires a specific blend of skills and experience; you'll be a qualified accountant with strong systems experience, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified. You'll have experience in managing the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning system in a large organisation with practical and proven experience of systems and process change. In terms of your approach, you will be an innovative and open minded leader who takes ownership, supports and inspires their team, is collaborative and delivers on their strategies.

What you'll get in return:

An opportunity to influence and implement how ICT can shape the future of policing, while consolidating your experience in a rewarding environment. As well as the obvious career and skills development potential that comes with joining at an exciting time and in an area that is growing dynamically at the heart of public service, you'll also enjoy a package of more immediate benefits. You'll receive 24 days annual leave per year + bank holidays, rising to 29 over time. The working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with agile working available. As with any senior role there will be the occasional requirement to work later in the day due to operational demands. The role is based in South Wales Police Headquarters in Bridgend with travel required as necessary throughout the region. The salary is up to £43,473 dependant on experience. In addition access to the desirable Local Government Pension Scheme is an important and valuable part of your package.
