Software Engineer

Location: East Grinstead, Sussex

Our client is a growing Software Development specialist using leading edge software development methodologies to design complex and chellenging systems. They are looking for software engineers with experience of developing C# .net for a security desktop application and a server service. Experience in GUI design & development (WPF) and SQL database development experience would also be desirable.

Role Overview:

Development of security and cryptographic application, keys to encrypt and decrypt data. Providing integrity to data, and both authentication and anonymity to communications. We are developing cryptographic key management systems, allowing distribution and tracking of keys over a distributed system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and test software to meet customer requirements
  • Support software integration with customer systems
  • Adhere to the company's Quality Management processes
  • Track and report progress both internally and externally
  • Assist the planning of work schedules and estimates
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the company processes
  • Attend internal and external technical meetings
  • Interface to external suppliers of hardware or software
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to undertake assignments at client sites

Required:

  • A degree (2.1 or above) or solid software development experience
  • A good understanding of Object Orientation
  • Competent in Visual C#, .Net, WPF
  • SQL Server
  • GUI, User Interface Design
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Experience in all areas of software development
  • Ability to learn quickly, along with an eye for detail

Desirable:

  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • SQL Server database
  • GUI design
  • Agile
  • Git
  • Knowledge of C, the C++ standard library
  • MS Visual Studio, OpenGL, SQL, XML, Git or other DVCS, CVS,
  • Windows, Linux
  • Experience in Real Time Systems
