Title: Global Category Manager – Software & IT Services

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Package

Vacancy Overview

In this role, you will get a chance to work with a wide range of exciting new technologies as you help buy the right software and services for colleagues across the global organization. As a global category manager, you will become a key point of contact for global and regional stakeholders for all software needs. Thus, you are responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships, including new spend as well as renegotiations. This entails establishing good working relationships with our vendors, proactively understanding their requirements and formulating feasible sourcing strategies and plans. Moreover, you play an active role in executing plans and leading commercial negotiations.

Key roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of the Software & Services category plan
  • Negotiate deals with global and regional vendors to support our overall business and commercial objectives
  • Negotiate complex contracts with global suppliers (e.g. Microsoft, SAP, Oracle and IBM) and with providers of emerging technologies (Cloud - SaaS, IaaS, Big Data, Hadoop, etc.)
  • Manage global suppliers, including scorecard design and reviews at tactical and strategic level
  • Drive sourcing plan execution and KPI management (PO compliance, vendor rationalisation and cost savings)

Candidate Overview

  • 5+ years of IT sourcing experience focused on software and cloud services spend, giving you in-depth understanding of global procurement processes and the software/cloud services vendor landscape
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business management with a focus on supply chain, legal issues or finance
  • Significant experience negotiating global enterprise agreements with SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and other leading software vendors
  • Experience reviewing spend data and developing action plans for optimisation and process improvement
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals at director/VP levels in fluent English
