Back end Developers x4 - PHP – Bristol to £60K + bens


Back End Developers x 4 .. These roles are based at our clients offices in Bristol BS8 so commutable from Newport , Gloucester , Bath or Swindon . they are looking for skilled and enthusiastic Back End Software Developers to join their Software Development Team! They are looking for 4 people with ideally one more senior who has perhaps led or mentored a team before with Agile experience and ability to lead the Scrum

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and exciting department in an expanding , award winning business . They have retail shops / trade counters , warehouses spanning the UK and Netherlands and throughout Europe and beyond with lots more plans in action for future growth

From an IT perspective they are unique. All the software that runs the company is developed and maintained in-house. Using open-source technologies, everything from their consumer website, shop tills, to warehouse stock control has been created from the ground up. The IT team currently totals 25 people spanning software development, system administration and technical support.

What theyre looking for :


·A real interest in keeping up to date with the latest in development; languages, methodologies, standards and everything else.

Fresh graduate or experienced and self-taught; it doesn't matter if you possess the following key skills:

Essential skills:

PHP, PHPUnit , MySQL, Javascript ,HTML5, Git, Linux/UNIX experience 3+ years of experience building web applications Effective time management Able to work to tight deadlines.

Desirable skills:

Laravel, jQuery, CSS ,Web standards, REST, Other developing internet/web/scripting languages (i.e. Ruby, Python) Agile

Key Responsibilities:

Scope solutions for the business system in line with business requirements. Write, test and implement software solutions. Deliver solutions within project timescales. Communicate and feedback progress to project management. Participate in peer code reviews. Help maintain a clean and efficient workflow. Contribute to the ongoing optimisation of our software development process and practices.

This role is based in the Bristol office , they alos have offices in Somerset , London and the Netherlands .

Salary is dependent on experience
