Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Salary/ Rate: £30k Permanent Days
Location: Shropshire

Job Overview
My client, a well-established manufacturing company, are currently looking to enhance their Maintenance department with the appointment of Maintenance Engineer. The purpose of the position is as followed;
-To ensure the achievement of higher productivity through comprehensive fault diagnostic repairs, TPM and improvement to existing machines and equipment and processes
-Design, develop, convert plant and equipment to deliver process stability and improve efficiency

Responsibilities:

-To provide a comprehensive, company wide and efficient diagnostic, repair and improvement service for plant, machinery, equipment and site services.
-To proactively identify route causes for downtime and implement best practice solutions to prevent reoccurrence
-To conduct daily TPM activity in line with the issued schedule and procedure
-To regularly review and recommend improvements to the TPM system
-To contribute in meeting the company and department objectives in minimising equipment downtime
-To demonstrate a can do approach to improving SMED, 5S, 5Tests, 5Wastes and Kaizen activity
-To ensure when supporting a work centre that relevant procedures, critical checks and correct operations are followed at all times and all process and line checks are completed in a timely manner
-Implement projects via the use of SMART targets to pre-agreed budgets and time plans
-Conform to Health and Safety requirements as it applies to the Company`s operations
-To Support the department`s maintenance of all plant buildings and equipment
-To assist with the department`s maintenance of all plant, buildings and equipment

Key Skills/ Experience required:

-Proven working experience within a high volume manufacturing maintenance environment
-Good working knowledge of fault diagnostics on Mechanical and/or Electrical faults
-Working knowledge of PLC Programming and Pneumatics
-Understanding of 5`s Kaizan and TPM
-Capable of understanding complex engineering / electrical drawings
-Able to multi task with minimum supervision
-Able to produce informative reports with best practice recommendations
