A family-run distributor of bicycles, bicycle accessories and motorised scooters in Derby is recruiting for an immediately available Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team working 37.5 hours per week offering a salary of £16,000. Part-time candidates will also be considered for the role, working 22.5 hours across three or four days with Monday and Friday being essential.

You will need to have a proven track record of a minimum of two years’ experience working in a busy Purchase Ledger department, along with excellent bookkeeping and invoice matching skills and the ability to confidently use Microsoft Office and Sage.

Job Description

Working in conjunction with PL Purchase ledger, the role will predominantly work with incoming stock invoices and supporting the existing team with varied administration duties and month end accounts. Your duties will include first receipt of all incoming invoices for stock, chasing and matching against suspended receipts to ensure correct invoicing, coding and registering of stock invoices, scanning and posting of matched and approved invoices, maintaining stock PL files, a crossover of duties with PL Clerk and support as required as well as other duties commensurate with the role, including covering reception as required. (These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as and when the business demands.)

Must have a very good working knowledge of Sage and Microsoft Office including Excel, a high level of attention to detail and an excellent telephone manner, patience and confidence when dealing with aged debt, the ability to solve complex cases and a willingness to work with senior managers from different departments, and also as part of a team, prioritising support when required.
