The Role

A Multi National Bank in London is offering this support role within part of its London Equity Derivatives Application Management team, and is based on the trading floor. The primary responsibility is to ensure the continued availability, effectiveness and accuracy of Trading, Market Making, Risk management, and peripheral production systems and realize the maximum value from them through continual technical and business process improvement. The candidate will work within the problem and incident management framework, be proactive and have excellent communication skills as well as outstanding client facing skills, be able to prioritise issues and escalate where appropriate.

* A senior member of the Equity Derivatives Application Management team in London, the candidate will have the following responsibilities:
* Provide support for Equity Derivatives Technology in London, with a particular focus on trading, risk management and pricing applications used by the structured products desks.
* Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams.
* Liaise with internal traders, operations, and other stakeholders on potential process improvements.
* Liaise with development teams on future applications.
* Take ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate.
* Pro-actively improve the quality of systems and service, and increase business value.
* Undertake projects as required, including, but not restricted to, the following areas: - capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting, documentation, audit and regulatory requests.
* Uphold and champion policies, procedures and standards.

Essential Skills

* Previous trader-facing experience in an investment bank
* Experience of supporting complex Derivatives systems
* Good Equity derivative business knowledge
* Oracle, SQL Server at the application support level
* Windows (2003 onwards) and Unix
* A track record of leading continuous service improvement initiatives

Desirable Skills

* Working knowledge of Java, C#, Excel
* Issue tracking tools: Jira, Service Now
* Spec reviewed by Dan Ward - August 2017
