Project lead – automotive retailer it

Based in whitley


The main purpose of the Project Lead - Automotive Retailer IT is to support the Retailer IT Strategy Manager in defining, documenting and delivering the Jaguar Land Rover Retailer Global IT policy across all target markets and regions.

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Liaise with JLR regional teams in key global markets to ensure the as-is JLR systems landscape is understood and visualised
  • Use knowledge of automotive systems to identify gaps in the retailer solution landscape and engage with business functions across the business to assist in the production of a retailer IT solution road-map
  • Own and drive specific work streams within IT retailer system projects or programmes as agreed with the Programme Manager
  • Support the Programme Manager in organising and planning project related activities through communication and engagement with key business stakeholders
  • Support the Programme Manager in the creation and production of a retailer Dealer Management System (DMS) manual to provide a detailed brief of JLR DMS functional standards
  • To organise, plan and schedule project related meetings and where appropriate to attend these and document the key outputs and actions
  • Actively engage with approved DMS suppliers to create a integration development road-map for JLR retailers in selected markets
  • Ensure all project related documentation in area of responsibility (time-lines, work-streams etc.) are accurate and up to date
  • To collate material required for project(s) using own initiative and through communication with key stakeholders as necessary

Candidate Specifications

  • Automotive retailing knowledge gained from a retailer, DMS provider or an OEM/NSC
  • Automotive systems experience, preferably with knowledge of DMS solutions
  • Familiarity with the customer journey during a retail vehicle purchase and ownership
  • An understanding of a typical IT project lifecycle and methodologies
  • Experience with B2B relationship management
  • Experience writing user guides or IT system manuals
  • Experience of interpreting and analysing data
  • Good interpersonal skills across differing levels within an organisation
  • Good organisation and administrative skills and a high level of customer focus
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to quickly and effectively get to the root cause of issues
  • Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong educational background, with good grades in core subjects
  • Numerate and literate
  • Some travel may be required within the UK, Europe and internationally

Working hours

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
