The Role: Product Manager (Telecoms / ISP)
Location: Manchester
Package: £40-50,000 with benefits and accredited training support

There are some good product manager roles on the market at the moment in the North West, so what makes this one different? It's a new role, and the first product position to be formally introduced so it's the chance to own and build that part of the business, in a company that has been ranked one of the top 50 technology firms for growth in 2017.

This is a real chance for a telecoms / ISP focused product manager to join a business and as a mid-level manager, be the interface between technology, sales and marketing. A new position means both flexibility and also, a blank canvass strategy wise and as the product manager, you'll own that strategy, alongside the roadmap and profit and loss responsibilities of the product lines - both existing and those future solutions that you will play a key part in bringing online.

It's a Manchester base and this is an award-winning provider of communications technologies and services to mid-market / enterprise businesses both in the UK and abroad. Your focus will be both existing products and future developments to both enterprise customers and channel partners, specifically by way of products that will enhance connectivity and technical solutions. It's the telecoms and internet service provider sector and as such, that will be both your background and passion, but this is maybe the chance to move from your role in a large corporate, and take a lead in something that you can actually shape and influence.

What new technical products and solutions are coming to market? What should we adopt and what products in our existing portfolio should we be looking to bring to end of life? These are some of the points you'll be considering and you'll research customers needs, review product specifications & requirements then suggest / implement new product ideas and/or product changes.

What is the competition doing? How do we stay one step ahead of them? This company has the flexibility and technical knowledge to keep evolving and you'll have the support of the business to play your part and make sure the product line is cutting edge, and gives the customers what they want, and more.

About you:

Technology is your passion and you'll have a significant professional network and have your finger on the pulse by way of what is happening across ISP's and connectivity in general. You don't need to be technical, but will need to understand how technology pieces together and have the ability to build the relationship with the technical team in the business, but working alongside the marketing manager, you'll be setting objectives for the marketing campaigns that they will be devising.

Ethernet and connectivity - you'll need to come from a product background in that area and have at least a solid awareness of voice, hosting and networking solutions. The company provide to both the Enterprise and Channel markets, so you'll need to be able to point to managing the full end to end product lifecycle and you'll be able to analyse complex data and look for trends in the market and users' opinions and behaviour.
