The Head of Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing the communications and publicity strategy for Boiler Room. Using a broad range of digital and traditional media (with a major focus on digital), they will work closely with the Chief Content Officer to take Boiler Room to the next phase. The successful candidate will externalise the internal Boiler Room culture through a visionary, inspiring, and holistic approach to earned and owned outward-facing communications. The Head of Communications will lead all publicity execution and crisis management ensuring the correct and authentic Boiler Room brand communications is visible in the media with a focus on both b2b and b2c communications. The role will require the Head of Communications to drive press coverage on key brand activities as well as amplifying our commercial campaigns in the media. Communications & quality implementation – overseeing quality and brand control of all written communications, as well as overseeing the communications implementation of any new platforms / channels Boiler Room joins or develops PR & Publicity – maximising appropriate, relevant, and sensitive opportunities for publicity from films to campaigns to commercial products and case studies B2b Communications - manage/write awards entries, create b2b panel opportunities for the key members of the business, drive b2b coverage of Boiler Room work and manage b2b communications across relevant social channels and networks Public representation – representing the collective voice of Boiler Room in public and in the press when required. Maintaining immaculate and effective on-brand communications throughout and fending off negative sentiment or crisis that might arise Campaign Management – The Head of Communications will be responsible for ensuring the execution select key marketing/communications campaigns working with other members of the Marketing team. Internal communications – developing & maintaining regular and effective internal communications Strategic real-time communications – monitor news and important happenings within and around the worlds we inhabit, initiating and recommending proactive and reactive communication strategies around these Brand consistency – ensuring the look, feel, and identity across all platforms and all social media channels is consistent and relevant to the brand, while also ensuring that each platform and channel has its own distinct, appropriate, and relevant identity Knowledge & Skills Exceptional communication skills Excellent stakeholder management Understanding of the intersection between traditional and social media and how different outlets can serve different crisis purposes Ability to work autonomously and with initiative when necessary is essential An Extensive pocketbook of b2b press contacts as well as contacts across broadsheets, music and culture publications. Extensive knowledge in underground music, culture and youth media Professional Experience Extensive experience in communications, PR and crisis management Demonstrates proven intimate levels of understanding and substantial direct experience with media strategy at a national and global level Track record of concepting, developing and executing strategic public relations and communications plans
