FUNDRAISING OFFICER JOB SPECIFICATION REPORTING TO: Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Manager COMMITMENT: Full time; permanent SALARY: Circa £25,000pa LOCATION: London SE1 ANNUAL LEAVE: Unlimited annual leave (new trial policy) ABOUT CALM The Campaign Against Living Miserably, CALM, exists to prevent male suicide, currently the single biggest cause of death for men under 45 in the UK. On average, 12 men take their own life each day, and 3 out of every 4 UK suicides are male. Our free, confidential, and anonymous helpline and webchat service operates every day of the year, 5pm to midnight, for any man in the UK who is feeling down or depressed. Through our campaigns and engagement activities, CALM aims to change culture and notions of masculinity so that men feel able to seek help before they reach a point of crisis, and family and friends feel better able to support each other. INTRODUCTION CALM receives a huge volume of enquiries from individuals, groups, and organisations interested in partnering with CALM or fundraising to support our work. We’re a growing team with ambitious targets and this role will actively support all areas of fundraising. KEY FOCUS ● Administration and overall support for the fundraising team ● Support community and corporate fundraisers via email and phone communication ● Supporter care of general challenge event fundraisers ● Prospect research of trusts and foundations and potential corporate partners ● Oversee fulfilment and distribution of fundraising merchandise orders ROLE DESCRIPTION Administrative support - Carry out weekly uploads of data to the CRM database, Salesforce - Opening and recording of office donations by post and thanking donors - Banking of office donations, including cash donations - Management of fundraising merchandise stock and liaising with third party suppliers - Creating campaigns on Everydayhero for supporters where needed, working with the In - House Designer to create appropriate assets Prospect research - Supporting the Trusts and Foundations Manager on prospect research for potential funders - Compiling and sending out mailings to trusts & foundations - Supporting the Fundraising Director - Maintaining accurate records of communications and contact details on Salesforce Supporting fundraisers - Responding to emails from fundraisers, including initial challenge event and community fundraising enquiries - Supporting the Fundraising Director on tier 3 and 4 corporate partners - Troubleshooting enquiries from individual donors, including regular givers - Answering the office phone, and speaking with supporters to answer enquiries - Supporting the Challenge Event Officer on delivering supporter journeys to general challenge event fundraisers - Ensuring fundraisers are offered appropriate support and materials and that they are supported throughout their journey with CALM - Ensure that fundraisers are appropriately supported, thanked and celebrated - Work with the CALM comms team to maximise support to fundraisers and provide appropriate PR support around agreed events - Work to engage fundraising supporters with wider organisation campaigns and activities Supporting events - Attendance at events to support fundraisers, as agreed with line manager - Preparing materials for events and arranging shipping General - Work with the Fundraising Team to support all of CALM’s fundraising activities - Represent CALM at external events, with some evening and weekend work on occasion - Work collaboratively with CALM staff team on awareness raising campaigns - Work with the Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Director to assist with management of other donors and supporters when required HOW TO APPLY?
