Policy and Quality Officer
Do you believe in a world where all belong?
This new post will have a key role in ensuring best practice in our services for people with learning disabilities.
L'Arche is a worldwide federation of Communities of people with and without learning disabilities. L’Arche creates communities where people can share life together and support each other, nourishing mutual friendships that reveal the gifts of each other. The essential dimensions to L’Arche are service, community, spiritual and outreach. The provision of commissioned support and care services is an integral part of most L’Arche Communities.
We offer supported living in small groups and in self-contained flats, residential care, outreach, and day activities in 16 locations in England, two in Scotland and one in Wales.
The L’Arche model of care and support is different in that the services are provided within the context of a Community, where we offer long-term friendship and a place to belong. We see providing the very best quality care and support services as part of our mission. In England, our CQC ratings are well ahead of the national average, with 2 Outstanding services.
We seek a Policy and Quality Officer to produce and update policies in the fields of care, support, housing, and health and safety. They will work closely with the Deputy National Leader, who has overall responsibility for service quality. Priorities will include developing our Quality Assurance systems, and advising Registered Managers and other leaders on service improvements.
Knowledge of care regulation and standards in England is essential; training in other subject areas will be offered. A high standard of written and verbal communication is essential. The post is based in South London, with some flexibility over working arrangements. This is a great opportunity to get wide-ranging experience of policy and quality matters, and to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Closing date 5pm on Wednesday 21st Feb. Interviews Wednesday 28th February in London.
Phone Kathleen Boyle, Deputy National Leader, 07712 394 976 for an informal discussion.
