My client, one of the country's busiest and most high-profile rail transport operators, is looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Manager to lead and manage the company’s relationships with influential external stakeholders including councils, Members of Parliament, User Groups, business groups, residents associations and amenity societies. A key part of the role is to develop a stakeholder engagement plan as part of the company’s strategic communications plan, including a regular programme of events and opportunities to target and engage key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a mixture of stakeholder and communications experience. A background of working in a similar role for large construction / infrastructure projects would be a good fit. Rail experience is not required but would be beneficial. Key criteria for the role include: - experience in public affairs, government relations or communications - in-depth understanding of politics, the workings of government and local government - experience working with local communities and representatives to address issues and achieve a positive outcome - experience in developing and executing a stakeholder engagement strategy with proven results - able to demonstrate a history of building and maintaining good working relationships with key external bodies - event management experience - report writing and analysis, including monitoring parliamentary questions and motions
