Our Client, a rapidly growing distributor of consumables to the retail and trade industries now has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer / Product Manager to join their team near Leeds. This is a great time to join a business who has plans for continued expansion.
The duties include:
Managing stock requirements in line with budgets and seasonal demands
Proactively managing and leveraging relationships with Suppliers in UK and Overseas
Developing a supplier consolidation / rationalisation plan
Identify and evaluate viability of potential suppliers of new and existing products
Identify and implement cost savings
Liaising with suppliers for any non-conformance issues
Maintaining stock related data into the company Sage ERP1000 system
Creation and running of stock and product reports and providing ad hoc data analysis as required
Purchasing from overseas suppliers
Liaising with suppliers and freight forwarders for imported goods
The successful candidate will have be experienced in a similar purchasing, planning or product manager role. You will have strong experience across supplier consolidation and negotiation and experience in purchasing from the Far East.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential, as is the ability to work off your own initiative.
You will be expected to undertake overseas travel approximately 6 times a year.
