Rotational Occupational Therapist - Band 5
Salary Scale: £22,440 – £29,034 per annum

There is an exceptional and exciting opportunity for a Band 5 occupational therapist to work as a permanent member of staff on our comprehensive rotation programme within Dundee HSCP Occupational Therapy Service

This rotation provides opportunities to be involved in working in:
• Acute Medicine for Elderly (based in Ninewells)
• Amputee Therapy
• Acute Medical Service
• Acute Stroke
• Neurosciences
• Orthopaedics
• Medicine for Elderly Rehabilitation (based in Royal Victoria Hospital)

We are looking for forward thinking individuals who will provide occupational therapy assessment, treatment, discharge planning and onward referral of own patient caseload, facilitating high quality treatment with the interdisciplinary team working in partnership with all agencies providing care and support for these patient groups. This is an ideal position for a Band 5 wishing to gain experience in a variety of clinical areas. As a Band 5 OT, you be fully supported by senior staff with learning opportunities with the chance to assist in the development of the service within your team as well as supporting change and development within the wider OT department.

In line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, the Allied Health Professions will be moving towards 7 day working. This is for improved patient outcomes and to maximise a person-centred equitable approach to care. Therefore all new contracts for AHP staff will be for a 5 out of 7 days service / rota to enable the service to be ready to move to a safe and effective 7 day service.

For this post, you can expect to be fully supported through our established system of personal development planning and training programmes. We have a strong commitment to MDT working, clinical governance, CPD and evidence based practice. We fully support undergraduate OT training programmes and regularly accept students on practice placements from Scottish and International Universities. Applicants will be HCPC registered.
