POSITION: Learning Support Assistant / Graduate Learning Support Assistant

PERSON: Must be a graduate - ideally those that have some form of SEN experience who are either aspiring Psychologists or SALT’s.

ROLE: Support a Year 2 boy (6-7 age bracket) with complex needs including behaviour

LOCATION: Thornton Heath, Croydon, South London

START DATE: ASAP - long term Learning Support Assistant post - MUST be available immediately - notice periods cannot be accepted!!

PAY: £70 - £80 per day plus up to a £675 Health Care Package

The Assistant Head Teacher who is responsible for the provision of all the children in the school that have SEN, would like to meet a multi-talented Graduate to join them as a Learning Support Assistant, starting immediately. The ideal graduate will have a Psychology based degree or similar with a keen interest in SEN who is planning on building a career in Psychology/ Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work etc. Having a robust academic record, achieving 2.1 or above in your degree coupled with some form of experience supporting SEN children, whether voluntary or paid is highly desirable.

ROLE:

The school has a high number of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including conditions such as Autism, ADHD and speech and language communication difficulties. As their Learning Support Assistant, you will focus your time on providing support to a pupil who has recently joined the school that has complex needs mainly around his behaviour, in Year 2. They are confident that engaging a Graduate who can act as a positive, consistent role model that is calm, patient and resilient, the pupil will improve leaps and bounds. This Learning Support Assistant is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical skills on how to effectively support a wide range of SEN pupils, building your confidence and experience which will help with your future career goals.
