Our client, a Fintech based in London, require a Business Analyst to work closely with their technical development team. This is working in a truly Agile environment, working closely with Developers and different areas of the business in order to gather requirements, collaborating with a Product Owner to solve problems. You'll be using Agile & Lean practices, given they are a responsive business; to the needs of their customers and the marketplace.

Continuous improvement is baked into everything they do and they are constantly looking for ways which can innovate and develop their tools, products and thinking.

Our client pride themselves on an excellent working culture. There is also a training budget allocated to each team allowing for employees to take up certifications or to attend relevant seminars.

Working on the most important things
  • You will support the Senior Product Owner during the discovery process to uncover customer pain points and business opportunities, whilst being mindful of how to deliver in an agile way.
  • You will work with stakeholders from across the business such as Credit Risk, Collections, Fraud and Customer Operations to understand and document their requirements and turn them into meaningful functional specs and user stories.
  • From time to time, you will also work in partnership with the Senior Product Owner to resolve critical defects / incidents in our live environment, ensuring we fix these ASAP to preserve a great experience customers.


Developing excellent software and a great customer experience
  • You would be an integral part of the delivery team and as such you will work with them daily to help them understand the priorities and resolve any questions, issues or blockers.
  • You will negotiate scope and always strive for an MVP / MVT approach, so that we can learn and change over time.
  • You will ensure that non-functional requirements (NFRs) are captured in functional specs and user stories, recognising that these are critical in building great products.
  • You will ensure that all aspects of the product are thoroughly documented for support purposes.
  • You will have a good understanding of software and enterprise architecture.
  • You will work with marketing and creative where necessary to ensure we deliver a great customer experience, as well working with colleagues in customer services to ensure that experience is truly multi-channel.




Defining the future of the product
  • You will support the Senior Product Owner in defining the forward looking product roadmap, and helping to shape what is coming next.
  • You will challenge yourself by examining what we are doing and how we are doing it, and constantly looking for ways to improve .


What Type of person are you?
  • You are extremely bright and you pick things up quickly.
  • Change doesn't scare you, in fact you enjoy the challenge.
  • You obsess about the customer and they are always at the forefront of your mind.
  • You have worked in a software development environment previously, ideally within ecommerce or finance / fin-tech.
  • You are commercially minded and you understand how a great product or feature can impact on the bottom line.
  • You have used JIRA extensively in previous roles (including writing simple SQL queries).
  • You come from a technical background and bring a deep technical understanding to the team, but are able to balance out the technical approach with customer demands.
  • You understand and influence the technical / architectural direction.
  • You have an eye for detail, and pick up on things that others may miss.
  • You have an outgoing personality, and you are as comfortable speaking with developers as you are with other stakeholders in the business.
  • You are a great communicator both orally and in written form.
  • You are inquisitive and challenge the norm, always asking "Why".
  • You can demonstrate past experience of adding value in a fast paced agile environment.
  • You are a strong team player - you build supportive, open and encouraging relationships, sharing information and consulting with other team members
