Estimator – Building Products, Ringwood
Our client, one of the South Coast’s leading specialist designers, manufacturers and installers of high-quality products for the constructing industry, is recruiting an Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analysing important metrics. You will provide knowledge of cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions.
The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.
·Understand the project/program and its requirements
·Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
·Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times etc.
·Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting
·Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
·Perform risk analysis on all tenders/bids
·Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (Project Managers, clients, bidding opportunities etc.)
·Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
·Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
·Past experience as an Estimator or Cost Planner or similar and ideally have a background in window, door and commercial screening industry.
·Must be able to meet deadlines and work in a busy office environment.
·Work equally well on their own and within a team.
·Numerical and IT literate with an analytical mind-set
·Proficient in the use of relevant estimating software (eg Logikal software).
·Computer literate - will be required to use microsoft packages, to include outlook, excel, word
·Customer service skills able to liaise professionally with customers at times.
·Thorough and reliable with excellent organisational skills
