Teacher of Science
Teacher of Science required at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy in Brighton for April 2017.
Full time Teacher of Science.
Required April 2017.
PACA is at an exciting stage of its journey, having just been recognised a 'good' by Ofsted and having doubled its intake of students for September 2017. We are looking for a colleague who is an excellent practitioner, and is committed to unlocking the potential of young people, to join a science team of exceptionally strong teachers.
PACA won the STEMNet Award at the House of Lords in 2015 and was shortlisted for a TES Award in 2016. Various other awards include the Coast to Capital Best STEM club, the Gatwick Electronic prize, finalists at the TeenTech Awards and finalists at the National Science and Engineering Competition. Various STEM projects including the Greenpower Car, an Observatory, the Shakespeare Garden and the Primary Science and Technology bus. We are now working in partnership with Ardingly College on their World Solar Car Challenge and we will be joining them as exhibitors at the NEC Big Bang Show later this year.
PACA is a smaller than average secondary school with ambition. Students, staff and parents work in partnership to achieve the best outcomes with an unrelenting focus on progress.
There has been significant development of the Academy site over recent years with £12.7 million being invested in an impressive new state of the art building and fantastic new facilities, not least excellent science laboratories.
