About the role
We are currently expanding our operations and are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor with project management skills in our new Bristol office.

You will be part of the multi-disciplinary team servicing our clients in the South-West of England, while also engaging with the Practice-wide national Building Surveying discipline management.

Duties will include carrying out surveys, inspections, schedules etc. and the overall management of schemes in the South-West of England.
Working on a range of projects predominately for clients in the public sector (education, healthcare, blue light, defence, utilities), this role provides an exciting opportunity to develop within a dynamic team supported by a medium-sized multi-disciplinary consultancy with 11 offices across the UK.

About you
We are looking to expand our team with a dynamic, enthusiastic, responsible and practical person, who is able to work independently, but also has the desire and capabilities to manage a small Surveying team.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience in general building surveying duties, ideally working on public sector projects
  • Project management experience of building maintenance work, refurbishment and alterations of existing buildings
  • Experience in stock condition surveys, party walls, dilapidations, measured and pre-acquisition surveys, contract administration, move management
  • Knowledge of building principles, preparing plans and specifications
  • Ability to monitor and report on progress and expenditure of projects
  • Excellent communication and client facing skills, combined with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Full membership of RICS or CIOB

The position will require travel to client meetings and other UK sites, therefore a full UK driving licence will also be essential.
