Part Time Bookkeeper
Your new company
Hays is pleased to exclusively recruit for a private SME organisation based in central Southampton. This company owns several care homes in the Southampton and Isle of Wight region, with the aim to acquire three more care homes this Spring. As a result, they are seeking a bookkeeper who can work remotely to assist the business on a part-time basis (12-16 hours per week). This is initially a temporary opportunity, with the aim to offer a permanent position to the right individual.
Your new role
Your role will include:
- Pay supplier invoices
- Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices
- Pay any debt as it comes due for payment
- Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
- Monthly reconciliations
- Maintain the petty cash fund
- Issue financial statements
- Maintain the filing system
- Maintain the annual budget
- Process payroll
- Ad hoc and administrative tasks where required
What you'll need to succeed
You will be immediately available to work, or on a one week notice period. You will have current or recent experience within a bookkeeping role. A working knowledge of Xero is essential, alongside a sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel. You will have flexibility in your working hours to accommodate workload. The client is looking for pro-active individuals who are eager to learn and grow with a rapidly growing business.
