Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
An on-going temporary Mechanical Maintenance job in Central London paying around £16 per hour in a university
Your new company
You'll be working in one of London's most famous higher education institutions, renowned for its excellent standards of teaching and research, at an iconic site in the heart of the city.
Your new role
You'll be part of a diverse maintenance team in the mechanical discipline, covering a mixture of both reactive and planned preventative maintenance. You'll carry out calibration and fault-finding on a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment, in accordance with current standards and health and safety procedures. You'll be covering boilers, chillers, FCUs and AHUs, AC systems including DX and Chilled Water systems, belt and filter changes, LTHW and MTHW systems. You will be responsible for the provision of repairs, refurbishment and operation of all the university's mechanical aspects, and understand the importance of good gas safety awareness.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll hold a relevant mechanical qualification, City & Guilds preferred, in a Mechanical or Building Services discipline, have previous experience of mechanical maintenance in similar environments, and be conversant in mechanical systems and practices. You'll have a strong work ethic and be capable of working independently as well as part of a team, and will be comfortable with and aware of the demands of working a customer-facing role.
