We have a number of opportunities for Analysts and Senior Analysts to join the Risk Analytics & Oversight team of a leading financial services group.

This is an opportunity to enhance your career working with data that underpins vital business decisions within Credit Risk. Providing insight into customer behaviour, credit performance and profitability, you’ll help the bank to shape lending strategies and ensuring those strategies create value, control risk, and help to create a safe, strong bank for customers.

As a Senior Analyst, you’ll lead the development and delivery of industry leading credit risk models (e.g. scorecards, Basel expected loss models, fraud detection models, and forecasting models) and other analytical solutions to support decision making.

As a self-starter you will need to have strong knowledge and experience of working with advanced statistical models, ideally in the credit risk environment. Utilising your practical experience you will demonstrate a good track record of delivering analytical projects in a timely fashion incorporating statistical packages and/or programming languages (e.g. Views, SAS, SPSS, R).

You will be naturally good with numbers, be able to work at a fast pace and with a high level of detail and accuracy. You will have a highly analytical approach to problem solving and will have a degree in a numerate subject and knowledge of advanced statistical, modelling and analytical techniques. You will utilise your practical experience in the use of statistical packages and/or programming languages (e.g. Views, SAS, SPSS, R).

Key Accountabilities
  • Apply advanced statistical/technical methods in the development of new initiatives, championing best practice and challenging other analysts' work
  • Communicate business implications of analysis, and progress against plans clearly showing awareness of wider business impacts and recommending business solutions to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all development activity (incl. documentation, implementation etc.) meets Analytics & Oversight best practice and where appropriate ensure compliance with Group Risk standards and FSA and other regulation. Steer all developments through the relevant internal and external governance process.
  • Own development plan for progression as a member of the Analytics & Oversight team taking all feedback from other team members, line manager and stakeholders, positively on board; provide on-going feedback to other team members and deliver this in a positive and motivating way.
  • Provide technical leadership to junior team members on all aspects of advanced statistical/technical developments and analytics, managing delivery of their tasks whilst increasing their technical knowledge.
  • Develop relationships with all key stakeholders;
  • Adapt communication style and approaches to articulate findings, business impacts and recommendations confidently and effectively to senior management/stakeholders
  • Where required, manage junior analysts, provide technical leadership and coaching including the setting of clear objectives, providing clear, objective and constructive feedback, Deliver feedback in a positive and motivating way.
