Quantity Surveyor required for this award winning fit-out contractor specialising in the UK leisure, this is home based, either a permanent role or long term freelance.

This award winning fit-out contractor specialises in the UK leisure industry. The organisation has a 40 year track record of delivering high quality Main Contractor and Project Management services for leading leisure industry brands, from one-off projects through to national roll-outs.

Responsibilities

Generally to assist in the smooth running of the department with tasks to include the following:-

Risk Management
Assist with the review of Contract Documents and identify contractual risks.
Ensure significant sub-contract orders are in line with main contract conditions so that risks are passed on.
Provide general advice to other divisions.
Cost Reporting
Provide up to date information on anticipated final account figures and projected profit.
Provide feedback to estimators regarding actual costs.
Identify cost saving opportunities.
Follow systems to collect and manage cost information.
Client Accounts
Maintain predicted and substantiated final account information for the client.
Identify and record variations to contract.
Advise client of estimated cost of variation.
Present final account in format acceptable to client.
Sub-contractor Accounts (for selected Sub-contractors only)
Ensure orders placed are clear and appropriate to the contract.
Monitor variation accounts, for inclusion where appropriate within client account.
Agree final accounts and reconcile with client account.
Estimating
Provide back-up to estimating department as required.
Provide general back-up to Contract Managers.
In addition to the above, to carry out all other reasonable tasks as and when requested to do so.
The Quantity Surveyor is expected to keep themselves informed of modern office administration practices.

This position is home based, but will require one day a week full expensed travel to their head office in Newton Abbott, Devon.
