An incredible opportunity for a Director of Sales has arisen with a London based Hotel Company, owning and operating a mixture of brands within the UK. If you are an experienced, passionate and proactive Sales Leader then this could be the perfect role for you.

· 2 direct reports.

· Functions as the Strategic Business Leader of the group’s Sales department and is responsible for property, proactive account sales and segment sales, local and social sales, business travel sales, e-commerce presence and digital marketing.

· The position shares responsibility for achieving revenue goals, guest and staff satisfaction targets and the financial performance of the business.

· The Director of Sales implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the Sales process.

· Has a good knowledge of strategy ideas and competitor analysis.

· Developing and implementing the sales business plan for the hotel.

· Leads on-property sales functions to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives. 

· Proactively positions and markets the property; develops and manages budget to drive revenue and meet property objectives.

· Develops and implements hotel–wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer profile and property associates and provides a return on investment to the owner.

· Attend selected appointments identifying high potential revenue targets and assisting with their development as required.

· Manage, oversee and audit the standards and operations of the Sales department.

· To implement and maintain efficient and effective operating standards for sales planning, administrations and reporting systems and to provide sales activities reports and account production figures, as required.

· Conduct quarterly property performance review and develop strategic and tactical action.

· Keeping up to date with local market trends and trade presses – identify new companies moving into the area the company and in “winning” the account.

· Play a key role in developing operating budgets and forecasting.

· Inspire Hotel’s HODs to further embed a sales and marketing culture.

· Any other reasonable requests made by management.


  • Business Development DNA and commercial minded.
  • Has a creative mindset and understanding of the elements required to increase direct online sales.
  • Has a good understanding of concepts and their application.
  • Strong sense of need for achievement of goals and success.
  • Sound ability and knowledge to develop standards of operations and strategic processes
  • Sustained and proven leadership experience in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrable skills in strategic vision and execution.
  • Ability to work under own initiative in a highly pressured environment.
  • Good listening skills and the ability to anticipate business needs.
  • Capacity to read situation, understand environments and respond accordingly
  • Well-developed interpersonal, adaptive influencing and supervisory management skills
  • High level of motivation, determination and commitment.
  • Experience & Qualifications

  • 5 years plus of hands-on Hotel Sales experience.
  • A strong command of both written and spoken English is required.
  • Good communicator, team player, excellent social skills, flexible, hands on attitude, able to use own initiative to solve problems, organised and efficient.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK; this role is based in London.
