Our client has a vacancy for a Product Manager to maximise market share in accordance with company objectives and strategies by developing highly competitive, market-leading products and systems offer for each of the sales divisions. To ensure the effective launch and communication of all new products and systems with the support of the Marketing and Commercial Managers.

Key Tasks

·Conduct initial market research to justify investment in new products including liaison with Product Management, any 3rd party involvement and working with the marketing department on the planning and management of new product launches to ensure that all products achieve their planned profit contribution.

·To be responsible for continual review and surveillance of the UK market, proactively analysing the UK market to identify trends, requirements and competitor activities and to them produce concise but detailed reports recommending appropriate course of action for the business.

·Compile and maintain up-to-date competitor benchmarking information on products, performance, strengths and weaknesses and amending to include any other business relevant data from time to time.

·To work alongside and support the marketing department to ensure timely production of appropriate sales and marketing literature, recommending and implementing the use of the most appropriate media to meet customer requirements.

·To assist with the preparation and checking of plans and other technical documentation for the UK market.

·To liaise with Docu Center UK checking content accuracy and informing customers of updates, product press releases and promotional material.

·To communicate details of new products, developments and changes via Technical Information Bulletins to staff and customers.

·To ensure the business is fully informed of all aspects of available products; specifically in regard to changes or modifications. To liaise with Product Management on all technical matters relating to current/proposed products and help to ensure all products achieve planned profit contribution.

·To ensure all products supplied are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of all pertinent safety and technical standards and regulations. Where necessary, plan and carry out such tests to determine product performance to facilitate UK sales.

·To monitor markets and work closely with customers to identify requirements for new product solutions to meet market requirements and to match threats from competitors.

·To identify technical training needs in conjunction with the commercial and L&D departments and to set standards for technical training to ensure staff and customers are adequately trained in products.

·To generate monthly sales analysis reports across all products for the Technical Manager.

·To assist with product enquiry support from staff and customers.

Requirements

Relevant engineering or architectural degree and/or other appropriate technical qualification.

  • Proven relevant industry experience, including at senior level; specification, design, fabrication and installation of window and façade products.
  • Thorough knowledge of the relevant design principles, including safety and technical standards and regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of structural principles and building physics.
  • Experience of providing competitor analysis.
  • Competent interpretation of performance and product standards and specifications.
  • Experience of problem solving and query management.

·Ability to provide information and respond to complex queries as appropriate.

  • Clean, UK driving licence.
  • Able to travel at short notice (UK, Ireland, Europe etc.).
