Sole Charge Accountant - Small Business in Mayfair - £35K

A well-established small, niche business based in Mayfair, with 8 staff and a turnover of ca. £43million is currently recruiting for an Accountant to be the sole person in charge of their day to day finances. The business has a real family feel, with a close knit team and a very low staff turnover. They pride themselves on their discretion and confidentiality, and the Accountant will be required to demonstrate this as well.

To be suitable, you will be part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience with ACCA/ACA/AAT or similar, and will have worked in a standalone role or within a small team, with solid all-round accounts experience.

It is essential that candidates have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and can demonstrate a history of permanent long-term employment.

Key responsibilities of this Sole Charge Accountant role include:
- Bookkeeping and preparing accounts to trial balance
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns
- Monthly EC sales list returns and Intrastat reporting
- Monitoring cash flows
- Preparing and issuing sales invoices
- Authorising payments to suppliers
- Daily and weekly bank reconciliations
- Monitoring multi-currency bank accounts
- Payroll and pension administration for a small team
- Maintaining a stock register
- Liaising with external accountants

Knowledge of customs and import VAT would be an advantage.

The salary on offer for this Sole Charge Accountant role is up to £35,000 basic, plus pension, subsidised lunches, and 20 days annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays).
