A large Law firm with a head office in Luxembourg focusing on Luxembourg Law and specialising in all elements of Business Law are looking for an exceptional Business Development Manager to run their Business Development Activities in the UK.

The client is a leading business law firm based in Luxembourg. They have an international team of more than 300 legal professionals representing Luxembourg and foreign clients in all areas of Luxembourg business law.

The Firm has several worldwide offices including one in London where this position will be based.


Business Development Manager - International Law Firm

You will be in charge of the firm's UK Business Development activities. Based in London, you will work in full cooperation with their Resident Partner in London as well as being part of, and reporting to, their global communication and Business Development team based in Luxembourg.

Main responsibilities:

  • Generate new business by identifying new clients and working collaboratively with other firms based in the UK;
  • Provide customer, market, sector and competition analysis using internal and external data, and identify actions to be taken;
  • Work in collaboration with the central teams to define and roll-out strategies and action plans supporting the business development in the UK for all our Business Units;
  • Ensure a detailed follow-up of these actions and provide recommendations to gain better efficiency in all business development activities;
  • Taking part in networking events and effectively following up with prospective clients;
  • Assist in the preparation of pitches / request for proposals, including research, references, writing of support documents, etc;
  • Support our global/central Communication team to develop the firm's visibility in the UK;
  • Organise, prepare and coordinate with the Communication and Events Team some local events and the communication materials.

Much of the Firm's business and many of their clients (in the UK) are referred to them by other UK firms who are unable to advise their clients on Luxembourg Law. Effective collaboration with these firms and forming mutually beneficial relationships with new firms is therefore essential to this role.


Business Development Manager - International Law Firm

Your profile:

  • You hold at least a 2.1 undergraduate degree, preferably in, Economics, Law or a related discipline;
  • Professional experience of a minimum of 4 years in a Business Development/Sales position within an international law firm or within the Professional service industry would be a distinctive advantage;
  • Comfortable meeting and following up with key decision makers
  • Good knowledge of the UK business and financial markets;
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as good organisation skills;
  • You are innovative, business and client oriented;
  • A team player, at ease with developing a network (internal and external) and comfortable with a double reporting line;
  • Motivated and entrepreneurial with an ability to work independently;
  • PowerPoint and Excel proficient;
  • Previous experience working for a firm who specialise in Private Equity, Real Estate, Finance or Tax would be beneficial;
  • Fluency in French is an asset;
  • Presentable and comfortable dealing with senior internal and external stakeholders

Job Offer

A basic salary of £50,000 - £60,000 plus Bonus
