In-House Employment Lawyer 5+ PQE

Coventry £70,000 to £80,000 + benefits

This is an ideal opportunity for an employment law specialist with a strong in-house background or a talented private practice lawyer who is looking to move in-house. As sole employment lawyer, you will be part of a close-knit team and will handle a broad range of UK and international employment issues, including special projects, policy matters and global staff mobility issues. Quality and variety of work in a collaborative and supportive environment is guaranteed with this respected organisation.

Our client is a well known business with international operations and a diverse workforce. Their in-house legal team supports the business with pragmatic, solution driven and commercially relevant advice. Working closely with the senior decision makers across the organisation, this position will be involved in every area of the business on a daily basis. The role includes managing relationships across the organisation and helping the business to scope projects, assess risk and take informed decisions as matters progress.

A strong technical employment law background is a given and this is likely to have been gained in an international company. Lawyers from private practice will also be considered, though you will need to demonstrate a practical, commercial approach to the law. Candidates with less than 5 years PQE are unlikely to have acquired the experience needed, but if you are exceptional, please convince us!

Previous exposure to cross-border issues will be a definite advantage. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate they understand the bigger picture and can identify solutions to complex issues, combined with decisiveness and a clear understanding of risk management. Experience in general commercial law is also important as there will be times when you will support other members of the legal team on general commercial and transactional matters.

The successful candidate can look forward to a rewarding and stimulating career with an enormously interesting business. You will be operating in an environment where autonomy and decision making are encouraged but where support and advice are always available. Capable of managing a challenging workload and taking decisions which deliver the right commercial outcome, you will have no problem with rolling your sleeves up from the outset.

A great package is on offer, together with genuine opportunities to progress your career within this blue chip organisation. The position is open now and we are keen to identify the right person and have them in place as soon as possible. So if this resonates with you, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

By applying for this role, your details will be sent to Ortolan People, who are acting as consultants for the hiring company. Ortolan People are engaged to provide recruitment support in processing applications. We will endeavour to respond to all applicants within three working days. Occasionally for roles with a very high volume of applicants, this may not be possible.
