A leading manufacturer of Sensors and Sensor Solutions is looking to recruit two Telephone Account Managers. The role will see make calls, account manage and develop business to support the external sales team. The ideal candidate will hold an electronic engineering qualification and have experience of telephone based sales in the sensor industry.


Commutable from: Watford, Hemel Hempstead, Luton, Hertford, Stevenage

Salary: Up to £ 26,000 p.a. + Bonus (up to 20% annually) + Pension + Healthcare

The Role

Establishing and maintaining technical and application knowledge of the company's factory automation products and develop an understanding of their sales and technical benefits to the market
Proactively maintaining and developing relationships with assigned Direct / Indirect customers and distributors
Continuously seeking to build new product lines and extending product and service portfolio
Generating solution proposals for customers and prospects, negotiating terms and supplying quotations
Carrying out outbound telephone calls to prospect for new business (on average 20-25 calls per day) and entering information / notes / comments / completed actions on CRM
Proactively developing and realising sales and marketing actions for assigned Prospects and Distributor customers
Identifying key contacts and building and maintaining effective relationships with key decision makers
Liaising with external Sales Engineers and Sales Specialists as required
Identifying and managing sales opportunities via the Company's CRM platform
Managing all new "Portal Shop Registrations" and determining initial sales potential and customer needs
Managing sales leads originating from external Sales and Marketing activities (exhibitions, technology days, intercompany etc.)
Providing Sales Management with verbal and written (via CRM) reports on the status of new and prospective customers as required
Maintaining the Company's CRM database with customer and prospect details and relevant sales information


The Person

HNC / recognised apprenticeship in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar technical discipline would be advantageous
Previous experience working within a proactive technical sales environment (Internal or External) would be ideal
Ideally experienced in telephone sales / telephone prospecting / account management
Results orientated and sales driven, working with customers to build profitable and long-term business relationships
Self-motivated and able to show initiative, with the capability of achieving challenging targets
Excellent communicator at all levels
Knowledge of CRM systems and proficient in using MS Office Suite applications
