Business and Customer Data Analyst

Location: Andover

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

Hours: 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Friday (1/2 hour unpaid Break Allowance

Benefits: 28 days holiday including bank holidays and free lunches

To own, maintain and develop the business data systems. To supply regular and ad hoc reports, maximise the usage of data to support business decisions and communicate results to internal clients at all levels.

However, occasionally situations may arise that require the post holder to perform other duties or tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Marketing Manager.

Duties of the Business and Customer Data Analyst

  • Owning, maintaining and developing the business data systems and customer database
  • Discover & implement enhancements in data infrastructure
  • Acquire data from primary and secondary sources as needed
  • Identify areas of improvement for business data and solutions for how these may be achieved
  • Work with internal stakeholders to improve data quality
  • Develop and implement strategies that provide required data in a timely manner to maximise efficiencies
  • Interpret data, analyse results using appropriate statistical techniques and provide reports
  • Turn data reports into insight and communicate it appropriately so that it supports business decision making
  • Analysis will include customer, product, sales, business performance
  • This is a cross-business function; the majority of work will be with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Trade Stores
  • Core business reporting

  • Responsible for DPA compliance
  • Training other staff to carry out certain tasks with data systems, in line with DPA, best practice, etc.

Requirements of the Business and Customer Data Analyst:

  • Reporting packages
  • CRM systems incl. Intact
  • Database management
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of using SQL
  • Programming
  • Statistics
  • MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Sciences, Information Management, Statistics or relevant subject
  • Analytical and methodical
  • Organised
  • Great communication skills with experience of working with senior stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to juggle simultaneous tasks
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to take ownership of data analytics
  • Extensive technical skills and adaptability with varying software packages
  • Ability to forge strong relationships across the business and champion the use of data for decision making and driving action
  • Forward thinker
  • Worked within a data rich business in this type of role for at least 3 years
  • Experience of a sales performance environment would be a benefit
  • Understanding and experience of selecting data systems and moving business data onto new systems would be a benefit
  • Data models, database design and development, data mining, segmentation techniques and delivering project-based analysis
