Head of Transformation & Performance – Adult Social Care

Could this role transform the way you think about your carer?

We have a clear, ambitious vision and plan to deliver a difference to the people of Camden. Our vision is to make Camden a better borough — a place where everyone has a chance to succeed and where nobody gets left behind. We’re going to create a place that works for everyone.

Our plan is to make the most of the economic growth of the borough, build sustainable communities, improve services to get things right first time, find new solutions to long standing complex challenges and bring strategic leadership to strengthen and build new partnerships.

In order to continue delivering for the people of Camden in the face of ever increasing financial pressure, we need you to transform the way we do things. We call this the Camden Way an approach that should underpin everything we do through five ways of working:
  • Deliver for the people of Camden
  • Work as one team
  • Take pride in getting it right
  • Find better ways
  • Take personal responsibility
In this brand new role you will provide strategic leadership, drive innovation, identifying opportunities for service improvement co-ordinating the service’s linkages to other parts of the council and key partners helping to develop wider initiatives. As such you are expected to work closely with stakeholders across the council, partners in the NHS and the community.

Taking oversight of systems that support performance you will co-ordinate the savings programme and associated monitoring ensuring regular review of progress aligning with the demographic changes in the borough, national policy, legislation, direction and practice.

Your pragmatic approach and your logical mind probably comes from a commissioning, finance or project management background. You know that transformation isn’t all about blue sky thinking and rhetoric but rather a methodical, rigorous, focused approach to the numbers (and to the people) is what drives results.

An organised professional project lead with experience of multi-professional and interagency working. You will demonstrate significant experience of programme/project management including management of risk, policy, strategy and performance in social care or a related field.

Your ability to function with a high level of autonomy, to work collaboratively, leading where appropriate is a given along with managing budgets, staff and excellent communication skills.

If you have an appropriate accreditation/registration with a professional body that’s a bonus, not a clincher.

Salary for the Head of Transformation and Performance (Level 6, zone 1) is up to £67,674 p.a. for exceptional candidates, as well as the opportunity to receive an additional non-consolidated payment linked to performance.

Respecting Diversity is a core Council value
