Head of Support & Safeguarding Adult Social Care

What would your vision be?

We have a clear, ambitious vision and plan to deliver a difference to the people of Camden. Our vision is to make Camden a better borough — a place where everyone has a chance to succeed and where nobody gets left behind. We’re going to create a place that works for everyone.

Our plan is to make the most of the economic growth of the borough, build sustainable communities, improve services to get things right first time, find new solutions to long standing complex challenges and bring strategic leadership to strengthen and build new partnerships.

As the Head of Adult Safeguarding & Care Management you are at the heart of delivering the Camden plan and we will need you to transform the way we do things, identifying new and innovative ways to achieve this.

As part of the Senior Management team you will lead, manage and provide strategic direction to develop and deliver an assessment and care management service for older people that is designed to give them independence, choice and control by helping them meet their needs and live a good quality life.

Key services managed by this post include:
  • Access and Response
  • Safeguarding
  • Locality Social Work
  • Care purchasing
Key partners this post is required to work with:
  • Health colleagues
  • People who need support, carers and other members of the public
  • Community/Interest groups
  • All appropriate statutory and independent agencies
  • Independent chair and board members of Camden’s Adult Safeguarding Board.

Committed to making adult services a top priority they need you, a skilled professional determined to transform services for this London Borough.

We need a doer. Someone used to being operationally strong and experienced with social care practice but also confident in taking the strategic lead on work across the service with experience of delivering tangible improvement and a passion and commitment to work through the challenges.

If you have a degree and knowledge of front line social work that’s a bonus, not a clincher.

Salary for the role of Head of Adult Safeguarding and Care Management (Level 6, zone 2) - up to £78,191 p.a. for exceptional candidates, as well as the opportunity to receive an additional non-consolidated payment linked to performance.

Respecting Diversity is a core Council value
