Salary: up to £65,000 + Banking Package

About the role of Product Manager and our Client;

The role sits within a Global Transaction Banking team (GTB) providing a diverse range of products and services to customers of Commercial Banking. This team has received significant investment and has stretching revenue targets to meet over the next 4 years.

An opportunity currently exists within the Invoice Finance product team, an area which generates over £150m of revenue pa. The Product team is at the heart of Commercial Banking business and is accountable for delivering products which are compelling for customers, simple to sell and generate the right returns.

We are recruiting product managers and developers who will develop and manage the Invoice Finance / Receivables Finance product portfolio; optimising outcomes for customers and delivery of our client’s business objectives over the short and medium term. These products support clients within SME & Mid Markets, Global Corporate segments and Financial Institutions.

This role is a great opportunity for a high performing individual looking to progress.

Product experience and practical experience of Commercial Banking are beneficial, but not essential.

The successful applicant for the role of product manager will be responsible for the management of the product mix of one of sub product groups (Factoring, Invoice Discounting, Back to Back, or International), leading complex activities with influence required external to own function; to optimise client outcomes, product performance, profit and balance sheet objectives through pricing, product design, distribution, promotion and governance.

Key Accountabilities of the Product Manager;

  • Positively influence others by demonstrating core business values and behaviours.
  • Implement agreed plans taking into account the business, customer advocacy and regulatory context.
  • Act as a source of professional expertise and have principal accountability for the management and/or development of a product or significant segment thereof.
  • Understanding customer needs to define and deliver an appropriate product portfolio
  • Develop the product portfolio and pricing strategy (including product proposition)
    Manage the portfolio/product levers to deliver volume, income and profit targets
  • Ensure products are designed in a way which enables good customer outcomes
  • Ensure existing and new product meet or exceed governance standards
  • Work with GTB channel owners to ensure we achieve pricing and margin objectives
  • Work with channel owners and marketing communications colleagues to ensure that appropriate Marketing strategies are developed and executed to support product objectives
  • Re-engineer existing products, simplifying, reducing cost to serve and expanding distribution
  • Develop new products and pricing to meet segment/ channel needs
  • Acts as sponsor’s rep on all related change initiatives
