Our client, a major insurance firm based in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join the team. The business is going through a period of change with a heavy investment towards new change projects. The purpose of the role would be to proactively manage the relationship within the business units leading the support of the projects financial reporting, forecasting and invoicing on a monthly basis.
To be the primary support for all project forecasts and actuals and allocating these to relevant business units and relevant P&L categories.
To provide high quality analysis in the required formats and to the agreed timescales for the business units and other committees as required.

*To support and challenge the project managers during the month end process, challenging journals and accruals requested by the project managers.
*To work with Projects Reporting Manager and Life Co MI and Planning teams in the successful implementation of the new detailed financial assessment pack for all existing and new projects. This requires a good knowledge of all the key financial metrics used across the Business units and Group and the relationship between them. Review and challenge submissions, especially the Pillar 2, Pillar 1, MCEV, IFRS, GCA and shareholder liquidity benefits for sense, errors and omissions using experience and initiative to identify key issues and areas for debate.
*Proactively work with project managers to determine and justify the appropriate funding allocations to support project business cases.
*To ensure that project accruals are uploaded to Oracle and Smartcore to the agreed timescales, for project managers to create project scorecards.
*To work with the MI and Planning Accountant to produce meaningful MI for the various Governance forums.
*Support the MI & Planning Accountant, providing input into the production of the Half Year & Year End results & OFR reports on a quarterly basis.

The Ideal candidate would have the following:
*Fully ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or equivalent
*Strong communication, investigative and analytical skills.
*Strong commercial and business awareness.
*Strong Excel modelling skills together with good MS Office skills.
*A working knowledge of consolidation and ledger skills would be an advantage.
*Comfortable communicating with people at all levels of the organisation, being able to explain accountancy terms to non-accountants
