London Bridge Hospital is expanding in 2017 into the top four floors of the new Guy's Cancer Centre. With 38.2 million pound investment and 60,000 square feet this purpose built facility will allow London Bridge Hospital to house its cancer services in one roof. Consultants from London's top teaching hospitals will offer full surgical provision in urology, gynaecology, breast, ENT, maxillofacial and head and neck, as well as reconstructive surgery for these specialties. The hospital will partner with Leaders in Oncology (LOC) across chemotherapy, outpatient oncology and haematology.
The new site will encompass inpatient and daycase beds, operating theatres including the first integrated robotics theatre in the UK, housing a Da Vinci Robot. There will also be a chemotherapy unit, outpatient consulting, Level 3 Critical Care and Imaging including X-Ray, MRI and Ultrasound.
The London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses the recently opened outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard, the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site, and a further five outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City, Canary Wharf and Kent. Patients benefit from multidisciplinary streamlined care, investment in leading-edge technology and London teaching hospital consultants.
As a Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive Materials (purchasing and logistics) service to the wider hospital, ensure stock levels are maintained and in the right place at the right time.
This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week (covering 7am - 8am service)
The attractive and competitive salary for this role is £19,982 - £24,468 and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement efficient materials management processes within departments.
- Provide a fully integrated materials service to departments
- Day-to-day responsibility for the efficient running of the materials management needs, including sourcing, purchasing and supply requirements
- Advise the department manager of supply issues that could jeopardise operational needs.
- Manage high value products regarding ordering, consignment, storage and charging - ensuring records are kept and available.
- Assist with the supply and maintenance of stock charge sheets (procedure sheets) as used to assist patient charging routines.
- Ensure routine stock cycle counts and adjustments are conducted including consignment items.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have previous materials/purchasing experience, ideally gained within a healthcare background. Having experience of stock control and supply chain management will support you in provide an excellent service to all stakeholders.
About The Individual
The successful candidate will have the ability to assess situations and report to Materials Team Leader as and where necessary. They will be able to prioritise workloads and to work in an organised and tidy way. They will communicate professionally with all Hospital users and have good customer care skills and show tact and sensitivity if working in patient's rooms.
