I am currently working with a Saffron Walden based charity, looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to head up the Finance and HR function within the business. This position is to manage both the efficient and effective Finance and HR teams with supervisory duties over part time assistants.

Job Purpose:

To take ownership of a broad range of responsibilities including the management, operation, maintenance and development of all financial procedures.

Specific Role Duties
· Maintain and develop financial systems, procedures and controls to meet accounting, budgeting and financial objectives and provide timely financial information to the management team and Board of Trustees.
· Recording and reporting the income and expenditure.
· Ensure appropriate records are maintained to meet legal, tax and charitable requirements and control systems.
· Responsibility for the bank accounts – being a signatory and named contact on all accounts.
· Liaise with outsourced payroll
· Responsible for pension processes
· Credit control for late and non-payers of invoices
· Responsible for managing the Audit process
· To ensure the charity complies with all statutory regulations and funding requirements.
· Undertake administrative and financial organisational processes.
· To report to the Board of Trustees when required.

Strategic Duties
· Contributing to the planning, development and monitoring of support services/financial management
· Develop and maintain existing relationships with funders and other revenue sources
· To ensure the organisation’s funds are used efficiently at all times.
· Enable budget holders to develop business cases and applications for funding and in financial planning and management
· Setting the annual budget in conjunction with the Chief Executive and management team, with approval from trustees

· To maximise all opportunities available for funding and promote the benefits.
· Promote as an exceptional and specialist charity.
