Fantastic permanent job opportunity in Bristol, for a Java Systems Developer to join a core projects systems development team in a highly reputed organisation. My client is dedicated to developing the very best digital and online technologies for their organisation, as they go through a major digital transformation, systems integration and upgrade. This is a new role within the team to support an ongoing key project to deliver innovative, well-engineered, user friendly systems, platforms and applications to support continued development of their information architecture.
Your new role
This is a hands-on development role in a systems team of 7, working as part of a wider project team. You will help to develop, integrate, deliver and support ERP systems improvements and new systems to meet the needs of a growing and demanding customer base. It is a broad role helping the organisation to move seamlessly from older legacy systems to newer, fresh technologies. You will liaise with stakeholders, both in It and non IT areas, and support your Project Lead in provision of quality, well-engineered solutions. You will be using Java for development and data integration solutions, working in Agile and Waterfall environments. You will join a really talented team who are focused and passionate about their work. It is a challenging and varied role, which will enable you to develop professionally and personally with exposure to new technologies and products.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a relevant computer science or technology degree, or career experience to show strong relevant practical and professional knowledge. You will have experience with Java and MVC frameworks , will be comfortable with analysing users' needs and designing information systems that meet those requirements as well as to the relevant IT standards. A good level of experience with Spring, SQL, Unix, Apache and Tomcat would also be particularly relevant. If you have already used or have knowledge of Agresso, this would be an advantage, although this is not collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You must be adaptable and flexible, willing to learn new and unfamiliar technologies or systems, such as Agresso, you'll be able to work under your own initiative and happy to contribute fully to the team's and projects success.
