An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of AXA Travel Insurance as a MI Developer.

Job Purpose
Create and maintain Fact and Dimension tables from diverse sources to enable fast reporting functions while looking for ways to improve the performance, speed and function of existing and new reporting requirements.

Dimensions and Operating Environment
The post-holder will work closely with the Underwriting Team, Commercial Account Managers, IT, Finance and reports developers to understand and define the report requirements and enable the timely production of reports in a high quality format that can lead to decision making and partner discussions

The role

Develop Star Schemes to produce Management Information to agreed standards of accuracy and timescales for use internally and externally for all AXA Travel Insurance schemes.

Use SSIS to develop and populate an existing data warehouse. Importing from files and reports provided by both internal and external sources.

Contributing ideas, collaborating and delivering the most effective software solution to provide internal and external management information.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues including research, debug and support

Document systems and procedures created and maintainedTo support the data management of the underwriting team on an ad hoc basis

Skills, knowledge and behaviour

Essential Requirements

? SQL Server 2008R2, TSQL, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
? C# or VB.net
? Database structures, Data warehouse concepts, architecture and design, Data cleansing and Testing techniques
? Data modelling, Kimball methodology, Agile development environment
? Good experience of ETL using SSIS
? Good experience of star schema, fact and dimension table creation and population using SSIS
? Good experience in creating Cubes using SSAS
? Strong analytical skills


? Experience within Financial Services environment, Insurance specifically

? Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of clients organisation and industry

? Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution

? Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems

? Proven experience of interacting with end users

? Results orientated with good communication and interpersonal skills
