McLean Ross are currently engaged with a global leader within the smart energy space. They design and manufacture smart energy equipment and energy software. As a Business Development Manager you are expected to provide sales, business development and commercial management to both existing and prospective customers.

The Role

This role sits within their European software division and offers great careers growth opportunities. You will be working with the most advanced renewable energy technologies in a fast growing company who has a global reach. Within this role it is expected that you will;

- Have a strong understanding of the renewable and distributed energy industry (which can include solar, wind and energy storage) in order to best educate potential clients.
- Quickly learn and understand the software products and solutions provided by the business to its customer base.
- Assist in pre-sales activities including software demonstrations, preparing sales and preparing, negotiating and closing commercial agreements with customers and partners.

The Individual

- This role will suit someone that has around 3-5 years’ experience working within new business sales. It is essential that you will have sold enterprise software to the energy industry.
- A proven track record of high performance against targets is essential. Track record of creating value within European power/ utilities/ renewable companies.
- Experience in software sales planning methodologies and business development processes.
- A strong analytical thinker with a high level of problem solving skills.
- A quick learner, effective networker with a can-do attitude.
- Native/ Fluent English. European and Chinese languages are a distinctive advantage.
- You will also be passionate about the low carbon economy.
- As a person, you will have an entrepreneurial flair and a passion for sales.
